Project Overview
Our company supplied industrial welded wire mesh to build certified machine guarding enclosures for an automotive parts plant in Poznan, Poland. The project successfully secured twelve new fully-automated high-speed welding robot workstations.
The Problem
·Safety Risks: Fast-moving robotic arms created high collision risks for factory floor personnel.
·Legal Mandates: Strict European CE safety standards required fixed physical perimeter barriers around the active swing paths.
·Monitoring Needs: Factory managers needed a high-visibility shield so supervisors could monitor the automated production line safely from the outside.
Mesh Specifications
1.Rigid flush welded grid stays in shape for custom cable openings.
2.High visibility yellow PVC coating warns people of dangerous equipment areas.
3.3mm steel wire coated with PVC reaches total outer diameter of 4mm.
4.40mm by 40mm square mesh stops fingers from passing through the screen.
Field Assembly
The factory technicians used pre-fabricated steel tube frames to hold the mesh inserts, joining the modular wire frames together with heavy floor-anchored steel posts.
Total Protective Footprint: 12 independent robotic welding workstations completely enclosed.
Enclosure Height: 2.0 meters tall vertical perimeter walls to prevent staff from climbing over.
Total Perimeter Grid Length: 28 linear meters of total safety guarding wrapped around each cell.
